Iowa State Fair blog on the go…

Our visit to the Iowa State Fair on Saturday August 20 was too jam-packed to detail so I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Our group included Dan’s mom (who we convinced would have more fun if she borrowed one of Hope’s old wheelchairs for shuttling between attractions), his niece Holli and of course Hope, Dan and me.
Highlights for me include the Butter Cow, Old Mill, Sew-in where volunteers make quilts for kids, and Pioneer Village where we’d never set foot before this year. Lots of old time stuff there including some music. There was a string band pickin’ on the porch of the museum and a pianist accompanying silent movies. Favorite food for the day had to be the corn dog I shared with Hope.
