Easton Corbin was a fun interview

My heart did race just a little last week as I flipped opened the spring issue of FFA New Horizons (NH) magazine. There in gorgeous, old-school, four-color printing was the article I wrote about country star and FFA alum Easton Corbin. Today I found it here online!
I suppose I could act cool. But it is too exciting not to tell you about it.
The opportunity to interview Easton Corbin, who scored two #1 country radio hits with A Little More Country Than That and Roll With It, plus two top 10s with Lovin’ You is Fun and All Over the Road, came to me because of my overlap of experience as an agricultural writer and country music blogger. Easton is a country star now, but agriculture was an important part of his upbringing and he credits FFA as a critical confidence booster for performing and excellent prep for handling the business part of his career.
Our 30-minute telephone conversation happened the day before Thanksgiving. Easton was at an arena in Oklahoma City where he was on tour with Carrie Underwood. Right after that night’s show he was to catch a flight to New York City so he could ride in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Sure enough, as I was getting things ready for our Thanksgiving dinner the next day, I spotted Easton in a green army jacket singing on KFC’s float, “Colonel’s Roadtrip to NYC by Kentucky Friend Chicken.” Busy life.
It was a fun and exciting opportunity and I thank NH’s editor Justin Davey for giving me the chance to do the interview. Easton was super easy to chat with and he said “yes, ma’am” at least eight times. To celebrate the article being out, here’s a Spotify playlist with my ten favorite Easton Corbin songs, starting off with his new single A Girl Like You:

Great interview! You should be proud. Riding down Florida’s Turnpike the other day, I was reminded how much agriculture is here. I just joined Spotify to open your playlist link, but it came up saying link could not be found. Maybe it’s on my end! Anyway, congrats on your achievement.

Thank you, Joan. Yes, Florida is a big ag state! I tried the Spotify list and it worked…I will ask around to see if others are having problems. Thanks for reading.
