Friends, family and great pizza before Keith Urban’s Milwaukee show

Karen, Gino and June
Keith Urban’s show November 4 in Milwaukee was number two in my trifecta of #ripCordworldtour concerts. I’m working on a post about the thrill of watching others having fun at his shows and will share that after show three next week.
But today I have to give you some photos and thoughts from our pre-show dinner in Milwaukee last night. It was a girls’ night out with friends and family at the Downtown Calderone Club.
My cousin Kris, her friend Janie and my friend June and her two lovely daughters Erin and Emily met at the restaurant, 842 N Old World Third Street in Milwaukee. Excellent pizza and some yummy pasta were capped off with a round of amaretto shots courtesy of owner Gino Fazzari. I’m not a drinker but it was so sweet of him to send those over and come by for a visit. The Calerone Club has a wonderful history which I knew a little of from my brother Tim. I’ve been there a few times over the year because Tim is a huge fan. He even took me there way back when it was a neighborhood joint on the East Side with the BEST pizza. Tim never misses a chance to go to the Downtown Calderone Club when he comes from Colorado.
Gino is tight with June’s family who also dine there often when they are visiting the girls in Milwaukee. June and her husband Tom like the fact that Gino uses Grande Cheese in his pizza and other dishes. Tom’s Swiss Croft Farm in Delavan produces milk for Grande. That says a lot about Gino’s respect for quality because Tom and his partner Wes and crew have won national awards for the highest quality milk. #MadeinWisconsin.
But one of the coolest things that happened at the Calderone Club did so as we were leaving. Gino pulled Emily over and introduced her to Keith Urban’s drummer Seth Rausch for a picture. Whew! Talk about making a girl’s night.
It was all so much fun and it got even better at the concert. More about that later. But for now enjoy the photos!
